Hake

Snoek, known as Thyrsites atun, is a popular fish in South Africa, particularly along the western and southern coasts. This long, thin species of snake mackerel is recognized for its distinctive bluish-black coloration on top and silver belly, growing up to 200 centimeters, though most caught are around 75 centimeters. Snoek is sold in whole fish, fillets, smoked, cured and in portions.
